Dear Future Husband

I know you’re out there, you could be down the street or three states over, but I know you’re there. Wherever you may be, there are some things you need to know about me.

I want to go on adventures. I want to travel, and I’d love to do it with you. There are places I want to see, things I want to do, and I hope you’re the person I can take with me.

I come with baggage. By the time we get to marriage, I’m sure you’ll understand what I mean. I’ve got history that’s not going to leave, and it’s affected who I am. My guard is up, and if you’re going to get through that, it’s going to take some work. But if you’re willing to try, I’m going to give you my best shot too.

You don’t get an out. When we say “I do,” we do forever. You don’t get to leave when we don’t work out, you get to walk into the next room, sit yourself down and figure it out. I don’t care if it takes three hours or three days, we’re going to cool down and work on things.

Two, maybe three kids max. This whole idea of creating our own family choir, marching band or sports team is just not gonna happen. Sorry buddy, I’ve got a limit. I’ve got my ideal family in mind, and while I’m open to whatever happens, I’m a pretty stubborn person.

My opinion isn’t the only one that matters. Before we tie the knot, before you even ask me, you’ve got a lot of other people to talk to. I’m sorry I’ve got a bigger family than other girls, but that just means you’re going to have to get more people to love you. But hey, if you got me to fall in love, the rest of my family will be a breeze.

But, if you manage to do that, and I know you will because I wouldn’t have picked you if you couldn’t, I will love you, unconditionally. If you can see past my flaws and quirks, you’re the one. You’re the one for life, so good luck, you’re going to need it with me. But it’s still going to be amazing, and I can’t wait to spend my life with you.
